2016 ROSATO

California Rose

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Alcohol: 13%

Harvest Dates: September 6, 2016 (Sangiovese) and September 27, 2016 (Zinfandel)

Vintage Notes: The 2016 growing season was near-perfect with an early start and ideal weather conditions throughout. A relatively steady and mild July and August and then a series of warm days at the end of the growing season, vineyards were able to progress to perfect ripeness. The season wrapped up beautifully as the first significant fall rainstorm arrived on October 14th – just after the last of our grapes were picked.

Ageability: Best to drink in its first year of release.

2015 GAUDI-CARLI

Calistoga Appellation, Napa Valley Barbera

Orange zest and rustic red fruits fill the nose along with Bing cherry, clove, toasted walnut, parsnip, root beer and maple. Medium bodied with fleshy tannins lend way to some, earthier Barbera flavors of cassis, blackberry and porcini mushroom. The vibrant fruit is kicked up with a nice balance of fresh acidity which makes for a mouthwatering finish.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Alcohol: 13.2%

Harvest Date: September 28, 2015

Vintage Notes: An early harvest yields high quality wine grape crop. In spite of dry conditions, vintners are using words like “quality,” “complexity”, “age ability”, and “excellent” to describe their expectations for the 2015 vintage in Napa Valley. Harvest started and ended with record early dates.

Ageability: Drinkable now and will continue to age well the next 5-7 years.

2014 BASIC BLACK

Sonoma County Proprietary Red Wine

Loaded with bass notes and complex undertones which interplay beautifully with exploding aromas of blackberry, violets, spiced ham, cinnamon, graphite, rosemary, and an earthy forest floor component. Flavors of dark chocolate and dark fruits are integrated and proportioned across a foundation of dense tannins for a beautiful mouth feel, fresh and snappy acidity, and ripe fruit.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Alcohol: 15.4%

Harvest Dates: September 15-16, 2014

Vintage Notes: A warm, dry spring brought early bud break, helped with canopy vigor, berry size and created ideal conditions for flowering and fruit set under sunny skies. With the exception of one heat spike in late June/early July, temperatures were consistently in the zone for optimal vine activity, resulting in notably healthy vines as fruit went through veraison and started ripening.

Ageability: The lovely finish is the signature of this elegant, surprisingly feminine, and remarkably balanced red wine blend that is immediately drinkable and worthy of 5-7 years more.
